Need an  Agent Smith costume? The Matrix movie is one of my favorites of all time. And Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. So I think this year I will combine the two and wear an Agent Smith costume for Halloween.

And I don’t think it’ll be that hard because, all in all, compared to many of the other Matrix character costumes, the Agent Smith costume is pretty simple and straightforward. Basically I need a black suit.

Agent Smith’s costume is pretty simple overall, but very recognizable,  and basically looks a lot like what you might see your father wear to work if he works in an office or maybe even to church on Sundays. Also if you’re a big fan of Madmen, the TV show, then you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about concerning the simple business suits that they wore on the show and the kind of look that they achieved.

Basically, a dark business suit that is not to loose on you, but one that has a more fitted look would be perfect. In fact, the more tailored it looks to fit your body, the better off you’ll be. And the more you’ll look like an actual Agent from the Matrix.

So I think what I’ll do this year is wear one of my father’s old business suits that he no longer wears to work. And since we’re about the same size there shouldn’t be a lot of changing to do as far as pants and sleeve lengths go. So what exactly do we need as far as a business suit goes?

Basically, a simple business suit, dark in color, with two or three buttons would work best. Now if you don’t have a black suit don’t worry about it. If you have another dark color such as Navy or gray, or even charcoal, dark gray or brown, that would work too. Just stay away from light color suits. The next thing you’ll need is a nice white dress shirt that you’ll need to wear buttoned up all the way.

And to complete the look you’ll also need a nice shiny tie clip, a medium width black tie, which can also be any dark color as long as it works with your  suit color, and an earpiece and that fits in your ear and also tucks down into your shirt too. And if you have an old pair of earbuds one of those would work fine too – remember, you only need one in your right ear.

Lastly, to dress up like Agent Smith and complete the look, you’ll need a pair of really shiny black dress shoes and a pair of dark sunglasses. You can always talk to your mom or dad about what kind of shoes you’ll need to wear in case you’re not sure, but if you keep in mind something like patent leather you’ll be well on your way to choosing the right kind of shoes. Think super shiny, lace up dress shoes and you should make the right choice.

And as far sunglasses go, something kind of along the lines of aviator glasses would work well although you want them rounded in shape In fact, you need a much more square look. Think G-man not pilot as your overall look. And you can always refer to movie stills and other photos if you need more inspiration.

So if you keep all of these things in mind as you create your Agent Smith costume for Halloween you should be very recognizable. And this costume will be one that is much easier to build overall than many of the other Matrix characters too. But if you do need to buy a suit there are several places you can get one, such as, at a thrift store, or even borrow one from your parents or a friend.

Lastly, just keep that 1960′s look in your mind – that is exactly how you want the final costume to look. Clean shaven, short hair combed neatly into place – that’s what you’ll need to do too. Clean and simple, G-man or Secret Service agent circa 1960, that’s what you want to look like. If you can accomplish this, then you’ll be wearing the perfect Agent Smith costume.

So if you dress up like any character from the Matrix this year for Halloween, Neo, Trinity, or any of the others, and if you have some friends who tag along dressed up as Agent Smith you’ll easily have one of the best group costumes of any Halloween party that you attend. And the best thing about the Agent’s costume, they’re fairly easy to make and you probably have most of the needed components already in your closet.

Looking for a Twins costume? In the Matrix movies there are many other characters such as the Twins that you can also dress up as for Halloween. In the Matrix movies, the Twins are kind of like the hitmen for the Mervingian. They have really cool powers, for example, the ability to move through solid objects, and when they do this in turn translucent.

But to make this costume really work you need to have two people dressed exactly alike. Remember, in the Matrix movies there were two of them and they looked exactly alike and they were called the Twins. So keep that in mind if you decide to wear a Twins Halloween costume this year.

The overall costume for the Twins is fairly simple especially when you compare it to the look of many of the other Matrix characters. Most of the other characters in the Matrix, at least the main characters, wear dark colors, mostly black or dark grays. The Twins, however, were a much lighter color – basically a tan shade or a series of light browns.

While they still maintain a businesslike look, they do look a little more casual, clothing wise, than do many of the other characters in the Matrix movies. So let’s talk a little bit about what the Twins costumes entail and what you might want to do to dress up as these guys.

First of all, you’ll both, remember there are 2 of you dressing the same, need a long light brown or tan coat or duster. And underneath that a simple pair of light brown pants and a light brown, tan or gray vest covering a black dress up shirt with a dark gray tie. You’ll also need to wear dark shoes as well and both be clean shaven – even pale in complexion.

You also need a pair of square or rectangular sunglasses, dark in color. And last but not least, you need a way to carry off that unusual hairstyle that both the twins wore in the Matrix series of films so get you a Twins wig. Balding on top, yet with long, cascading braids, light brown in color, wafting down the sides of their heads. In fact, this unique hairstyle lent itself to some really unusual visual effects when the Twins did their change from solid to translucent. A really cool effect!

Many of these items you may already have in your closet at home such as the brown dress pants, a nice dress black shirt and a dark tie. You may even have some sunglasses that will work as well. But the main thing I know you’ll have to get to make the Twins costume exactly perfect is the wig. Those braided locks are one-of-a-kind and the only character you’ll see in the Matrix wearing such a look. So if you follow these steps you should have a very convincing Twins costume, straight out of the Matrix.
