Here are a few Matrix costume ideas. One must consider his/her costume ideas based on the movie Matrix carefully. To reach the ’feel’ of the surreal world which overpowers the movie Matrix one must realize that there are basically three or two colors that control the color scale in the first Matrix movie; white, black and grey.
Now that you have the colors to base your Matrix costumes on, the rest is easy. Let’s see: Neo – the prophet, the Chosen One, who is the hope of humanity. In the movie we see him at first as a paper pusher at day and a nerdy hacker in the night.
So, there would be the first Matrix costume idea. As the nerdy Neo, Mr. Anderson, white t-shirt & jeans. Of course, this would need a little bit of explanation and not obvious unless you look like Keanu…
So, in order to look like Neo I’d dress up like the Neo later in the movie. Black suit, long jacket, sunglasses. Nothing too fancy, and keeping the colors in black and white. Use some hair gel and a comb on your hair and you’re set to go.
Now when you consider Morpheus, the one who finds Neo and is the only one who trusts him to be the savior of human race, you can’t help but to notice that he differs from Neo clearly by wearing a lot of grey.
So instead of a simple black and white suit of Neo, I’d put on a grey vest with a grey suit. Black tie and sunglasses on, time to hit the costume party. If you’re caucasian you could even use a coloring agent of your skin. Which is hopefully soluble in water….
Trinity is a bit trickier, since it requires the ability to slip into extremely tight leather trousers. But on Halloween, well you’re pretty well geared up to be one of the sexiest ladies in the costume party. So, for Trinity wear tight leather trousers or leather-looking leggings and a black tank top. Top it of with sunglasses and apply some black dye on that blonde hair.
